Course Information

Will there be any credit offered for taking the course and what type?
A Certificate of Continuing Education Credit will be issued by the Mid-America Public health Training Center at the UIC School of Public Health, for each course that a registrant successfully completes, at conferences or online. The Center will maintain a record of the courses you have completed. You will receive a certificate at the end of the training session or you will be able to print out a Certificate after the successful completion of each course provided online.

What Training Programs will the Center offer?
The Mid-America Public Health Training Center (MAPHTC) uses a collaborative, comprehensive, integrated approach to training the public health workforce. MAPHTC focuses primarily on several levels of training needs for public health workers. Most of the courses offered through the Training Center are face to face. Some sessions will be available to view online as well.

What internet browsers work with Public Health Learning?
Currently, only Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 & 6.0 will provide full compatibility with the Learning Management System. Other browsers may work for some tasks, but will not work the entire site.

Why won't my certificate print?
Certificates are available in .PDF format. They are viewable and printable using Adobe's Acrobat Reader, free to download by going to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Why can’t I launch an IPHPC course?
All IPHPC courses need to have JAVA installed to work properly. To check or install/update your JAVA follow the steps: To enable Java the user needs to go to Internet Options in the browser toolbar, then to 'advanced' tab, then scroll down to the heading for 'Java' and make sure the box is checked to enable Java.
