Community Public Health Practice Online Certificate Programs

The Division of Community Health Sciences, one of four academic divisions of the UIC School of Public Health, focuses on health needs and multidisciplinary interventions at the community level, preparing students to assume leadership or middle-management positions in public and voluntary public health organizations.

The Division of Community Health Sciences awards the following academic certificates through the UIC School of Public Health.

•  Basic Community Public Health Practice Certificate

•  Advanced Community Public Health Practice Certificate

The certificate programs in Basic Community Public Health Practice and Advanced Community Public Health Practice present a unique opportunity for individuals working in community health, public health or other related fields to learn to better identify and address community health needs and priorities. Students will gain valuable information for designing, developing and assessing public health education programs and policy. Additionally, the convenient online delivery mode of these certificate programs allows both new and established practitioners an opportunity to upgrade their community health practice skills without additional scheduling burdens.

Each certificate program curricula consists of four graduate-level courses that may be transferred into either the Master of Public Health degree or Master of Science in Public Health (MS) degree. Successful completion of either certificate program does not, however, guarantee admission into the MPH or MS degree program.
